In just over an hour, entries will be locked in and it will then be in Under Armour’s hands to cut down ten candidates down to the final three. With my final post as an Ultimate Intern semi-finalist, I will keep it short.
With me, Mohammed Oosman, as your Ultimate Intern, you will be getting:
EXPERIENCE- I’ve said it in previous posts of mine, you are getting an experienced intern if chosen. I have experience both within the social media loop and also have experience with athletics since I hold a strong background of sports and marketing.
KNOWLEDGE- With me, you are getting knowledge. Since my school, Florida International University, is sponsored by one of your competitors, I can give you my input on what they do well, do wrong, what they can improve on and ultimately, give you an insight on how to overtake them and others. I can also offer you unique and original ideas of how to improve and more.
DETERMINATION- I dedicated my entire self to this competition and hope this isn’t the last attempt I have to show Under Armour why I would make the ideal Ultimate Intern. Ever since day 1 of this journey, my life has been non-stop Under Armour. And I hope it continues to be that way.
WILL- With me, Mohammed Oosman, as your Ultimate Intern, you’ll get a hungry, eager, passionate and loyal worker who WILL PROTECT THIS HOUSE

If I were to sit here and tell you that I want the opportunity to be the next Social Media Strategist Intern for Under Armour, that would be an understatement. Ever since I found out about this opportunity(via social media, what else is new), I have not been the same. Since the day I applied, my life changed. I eat, sleep and breathe Under Armour and do nothing more than showcase myself on here, Facebook and Twitter. Ask anyone I know, I have not been the same since that day. In meetings, class, personal life and organization events, all that is on my mind is this internship. It has always consistently been on my mind since applying. I have been able to balance a busy school and personal life with this campaign and it’s been truly a great experience. I’m hoping it isn’t the end.
Ever since I received the email from Tumblr that stated ‘underarmour is now following you’, it hit me. It hit me because this was no joke and there was no way that I would stand around and let the opportunity of a lifetime walk away. NO! Every single night, I lay in my bed brainstorming of what I can do to showcase myself, what I can do to make myself better, and mainly, what I can do to make Under Armour better. I don’t go to sleep till I finish nailing those questions down. It’s been like this every single night since my entry into this competition. Sure, you could say that I want this internship, but that is not going to even come to how close to HOW BAD I want to land this opportunity. I AM SO HUNGRY and EAGER to work with Under Armour that this would be an UNFORGETTABLE experience. It would be the EXPERIENCE of a LIFETIME! I am SO HUNGRY and EAGER to learn.
I am a simple guy. Whatever is asked of me, I will do, and a little more. I do not stop a task until it is completely finished. I like to finish something that I started. That’s what drives me. And that’s my plan with this competition. Passion. Ambition. Eager. Pride. All of those are some words that describe my worth ethic. Do you think that I ‘want’ this internship so I can have bragging rights? No. Do you think I want this internship so I can leave South Florida for the summer? No. Do you think I want this internship just to get there and not give my full effort? No. Do you think I want this internship to get free gear? It’s a plus, but, NO! I am solely here to improve Under Armour to the best of my ability and work with a team that is passionate in what they do just like myself.
Sure, I’ve made some mistakes throughout this journey such as misuse of my video camera forcing me to make a quick, brief video using my webcam. But, no one is perfect and we learn from our mistakes. I want to make mistakes. Why? So I learn from them and become a better person because of them.
If you think I ‘want’ this internship, you do not know me. ‘Want’ isn’t the word I’m looking for. ‘Want’ isn’t the word to describe how much heart I have put into this competition.
I may not be the most popular guy on campus. But, that doesn’t mean that I can’t bring you ideas and help you strive.
If you think I ‘want’ this internship. Boy, are you wrong.
Under Armour, do you hear me? I’m coming. I WILL PROTECT THIS HOUSE!
Tomorrow is the last day to SUPERCAM and show Under Armour what you’re made of before finalists are announced on Friday. Two more days. Are you going to let the opportunity of a lifetime slip away or come up big in the clutch?

This afternoon, the FIU Student Programming Council(SPC) revealed their upcoming artists for this years UPRoar Concert. UPRoar is one of FIU’s and SPC’s biggest traditions that happens every spring semester. It is a week long series of events containing a comedy show, pit event, concert, and movie. Events are set up and organized by FIU SPC and are strictly exclusive to FIU students. Oh yeah, the concert is FREE for enrolled students at FIU with a valid Panther ID.
In previous years, FIU SPC has brought in top-name artists including OneRepublic, Ludacris, KiD Cudi, Pitbull, Fareast Movement and Flo-Rida.
This year, FIU SPC has set the bar so high with the artists they’re bringing in. This will be my second UPRoar concert and I cannot wait to experience it once again in April. Did I mention that this concert is ABSOLUTELY FREE to the FIU student body?
Look at the flyer below to see who we are bringing in this year for UPRoar!
With that said, we have one month to promote this event and spread it across our diverse community. Our best and most effective way of communicating and informing the student body of our events, including the UPRoar concert, is through social media, mainly Facebook. Students are able to communicate with us and we are also able to address their questions and concerns regarding concert details. Time to promote this concert on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr! Tickets for a FREE concert with big names like these will not last long.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR UPROAR WEEK!
I reached out to some FIU personel to get the word out regarding my Under Armour Ultimate Intern bid.
Here is FIU Football wide receivers coach helping me out. Frank and I worked together during my summer internship with FIU!
Here is former FIU Football legend and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back, Anthony Gaitor, helping out a fellow FIU Panther!
Anthony Gaitor went down as one of the greatest FIU Football players in their young history during his 4-year stint at FIU and was selected in the seventh-round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2011 NFL Draft
Over the past month, I have posted many reasons and showed you why I’d be an ideal candiate as the next Ultimate Intern. Let’s dig deeper so I can show you how bad I want to protect this house!
Sports: If you know me, you know I am all about sports. Literally. I am all about sports. Turn on my tv, sports. Look at my phone, sports. Look at my room…actually, don’t, my room is a tad bit messy. But, if you do look, you’ll find sports. I have a sports background both on and off the field. I played varsity sports back in my high school days and also was on the school newspaper staff in charge of writing about sports during my junior and senior year. I covered sports like no other as it was my passion. There was nothing more fun to me than covering and writing about sports. My two favorite hobbies put into one. My work even got into the teachers hands during my senior year as I had my teachers complimenting me on my writing style and sports knowledge. At times, I even stayed after class to discuss sports topics with my teachers since they were surprised I held that much knowledge regarding that at the high school level. They enjoyed my take on the topics I wrote about. Topics covered during my high school sports journalist stint include the NFL Draft, NFL, MLB and NBA Playoffs and also the biggest one of all, the possibility of the Miami Heat forming a Big 3 down on South Beach, which after graduation, became a reality.
Experience: I have experience, both with sports and social media. As I said, I played varsity sports throughout high school and have worked with sports at the collegiate level. I worked with the Florida International University(FIU) Football Operations Department during a summer internship in 2011. I worked alongside many high personel during my internship including the operations coordinator, assistant coaches, director of football operations and the big dog himself, Head Coach Mario Cristobal. Aside from having experience in the athletics department. I assisted in editing and sorting through prospective recruits film, conducted and brewed up scouting reports for the coaching staff and also took part in day-to-day tasks including contacting players and handing out memos and reminders to players regarding upcoming deadlines and requirements. I also assisted in coordinating Coach Cristobal’s Coaching Camp Clinic up in Orlando, Florida. I also have social media experience.
Experience Part 2: Being an active member in FIU’s Student Programming Council(SPC) for two years has been absolutely great. To be apart of such an exclusive and superior organization has helped me both grow as an individual and student. FIU SPC holds events for the student body of FIU including movies, comedy shows, lectures, pit events, concerts and more! How much does this cost? Nothing! All the events put on by FIU SPC are absolutely free. They do not cost a penny to attend and to be apart of. With FIU having such a diverse and large student population, it is tough to reach the study body. As a member of FIU SPC, social media takes a large stand and plays a crucial part in the attendance at our events. With FIU SPC, we promote and advertise our events on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr so the student body is aware of what is going on around campus. Whether it is by word of mouth, flyers, on-campus promotions or social media promotions, I have had a ton of experience in those fields being an active member of the FIU Student Programming Council.
That is part numero uno. Be on the lookout for part two which will be posted later on today!
